Perfect Pairings

Are you ever walking around the store...your favorite wine in hand and you have no clue what cheese to grab? This week... I will be sharing what will go satisfy white, red or sparkling favorites!

Starting off with the first on our list, cabernet sauvignon, which is deep and has very complex flavors, pairs the best with firm, cow cheeses such as beemster, gruyere, and comté. As far as meat goes, the best pairing would be anything from salami to pork.

If you're more of a sparkling wine type, I would recommend grabbing any kind of sticky cheese which includes brie, muenster, or cremont. Food wise, the perfect pairing would be any kinds of veggies, foie gras, or smoked salmon.

Moving onto sauvignon blanc, bringing home any kind of goat cheese because of its fruity and acidy flavors. If you're looking for dinner to go along with it, chicken, pork or turkey are favorites to pair.

Finishing up with pinot noir, the perfect pairings include comté, gruyere or any nutty cheese. This wine is specifically food friendly, and having it along side any medium cow cheeses will satisfy any wine lover! Next week... I 'll be talking Wilderness Run Vineyards and watching their family home turn into a wine trail favorite!
